Style Guide: Street Chic

Have you ever saw a picture on Instagram of someone wearing a very chic and cool outfit on the street, and thought of how stylish this person is wearing such simple yet chic streetwear?

To achieve such looks, the advice we can provide is thinking twice about the outfit you will be wearing before going out; this includes mixing and matching, adding colours, adding bold elements to your outfit like gold or silver items, striking accessories and most importantly having the most important street style item; DENIM.

This style guide will illustrate two outfit inspirations you can follow to achieve a street chic look.

The first look involves a pair of  Helmut Lang’s cropped high-rise straight-leg jeans with a subtle waist, along with an Ann Demeulemeester printed cotton-jersey T-shirt which is tucked into the pants, an oversized denim jacket by MM6 Maison Margiela which could be either tied at the waist to give a more defined silhouette or left untied; revealing the slogan Tee underneath. This could be matched with a Valentino leather clutch, a denim Schutz sandals, and Jennifer Fisher’s Orb Drop silver-plated earrings. The look could be finished with a lip sleek Orchid balm by Chantecaille and a Miller Harris Vetiver & Grapefruit perfume, to provide a rich citrus fragrance.

The second look involves the same Ann Demeulemeester printed cotton-jersey T-shirt, but this time we have paired it with a red button-embellished wool mini skirt by Prada which hints to the ’60s along with a Balenciaga swing oversized denim jacket which depicts a held and boxy shape. A pair of burgundy textured-leather ankle boots are added with  a sculptural red heel, a  metallic textured-leather clutch by Loeffler Randall along one of this season’s statement pieces; the baker boy or felt cap by Isabel Marant which is brought back from the ’60s and ’70s style. Finish the look with a pair of Doris glasses by Roberi & Fraud and a lip velvet – Oxblood No.437 by Burberry beauty to give a dense and radiant and lasting colour.
